Oh, gmail, oh gmail…why have you forsaken me? Or locked me out?

I am one of the apparently many who have gotten the dreaded lockdown message from gmail. (I mainly access the account from Firefox on OS X using the gmail notifier plug in…)

Have no idea why I got the message today as I have been using this same setup for the past 5 months or so.

Update: I have been reinstated, but if the problem was the gmail notifier, why doesn’t gmail just explicitly ban it’s use?
