I've been using a free Yahoo email account for personal emails for a couple of years - small volume, rarely using multiple addresses, etc. Over the past 12 months, the service has become increasingly unreliable. It is rare - maybe 1 eail out of 20 - but not unsurprising for a message to arrive 24 to 48 hours after being posted from an equally ordinary PC account. Interestingly, these "new messages" ("unread email") appear in my inbox, sorted by date, in the spot they would have appeared had they arrived promptly.

I can't believe what is happening to me has much to do with spam as there is no obvious connection to volume or content (e.g. hotlinks, images). I do wonder if it is related to another problem which sometimes appears: difficulty logging on to Yahoo at all ("... waiting for ad.farm...")
