My main focus is on sites I think are useful. I try to be as honest as I can, and sometimes that could be a little biting. Here’s a list of what I look for:

-Usefulness: Does the site serve a particular demographic? Does it serve a particular demographic well? How many competitors are out there? How does it compare to others?

-Look and Feel: What is the look and feel of a site? Does the site load fast? Is it intuitive? Are there available instructions and FAQs? What about navigation? Does the site work in all browsers or just certain ones?

-Markup: What does the site markup look like? Was it coded with standards in mind? What platform is the site using? Is the markup and CSS sophisticated?

-Marketing and SEO: Is the site built with marketing in mind? Does it follow industry practices with copywriting and SEO?
